Registered Play Specialist
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Health Play Specialist to join a specialist service in Loughborough.
The service provides care and support for babies, children, and young people with serious and terminal conditions across the East Midlands.
The care offered includes palliative care and end of life care, symptom management, emergency care, respite and short breaks within the hospice, at home and in hospitals.
As a Registered Health Play Specialist, you will be part of the outreach services working on-site and within the local community, providing therapeutic and generic play and leisure activities for service users - creating meaningful and enjoyable memories in a safe and caring environment.
As well as ensuring all children have access to play opportunities and planning appropriate activities, you will be responsible for providing assistance, guidance and leadership to the wider Play Team of 3.
You will support the team by overseeing all activities, promoting and maintaining good teamwork and working alongside the Family Support Lead on any Employee Relations activities.
This role includes both on-site and community working. A driving license and access to a vehicle are therefore essential.
This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours, Monday-Friday.
(Some weekends will be required on occasion for events, for example Family Fun Days and the annual Christmas party).
Person specification:
- (Essential) Fully-qualified Health Play Specialist and registered with the SoHPS (HPSET)
- (Essential) Experience working with babies and children of all ages
- (Essential) Experience with babies and children with complex needs
- (Essential) Ability to travel around the East Midlands and get to rural locations
