Role: Safer Communities Officer - Anti-Social Behaviour and Statutory Nuisance
Pay Rate: £31.38 per hour
Location: London Borough of Lewisham
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Safer Communities Officer to join the Lewisham Community Services team.

This role focuses on responding to, investigating, and addressing complaints related to anti-social behaviour, statutory nuisance, and community safety concerns.


You will work collaboratively with internal departments, external agencies, and community members to reduce crime, improve safety, and enhance the quality of life for Lewisham residents.


Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate and address complaints around community safety, anti-social behaviour, and nuisance.


• Enforce statutory provisions under relevant legislation, including the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act 2014.


• Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and mitigate problem areas or hotspots.


• Participate in out-of-hours response services to address nuisance complaints.


• Prepare evidence, case files, and reports for legal proceedings and attend court as required.

Requirements:

• Experience in community safety, anti-social behaviour, or statutory nuisance.


• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and enforcement tools.


• Excellent interpersonal, investigation, and case management skills.


• Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet community needs.
