Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently working with the National Audit Office to recruit a Payroll and HR Administrator on a temporary basis for an initial 6-months with the potential for extension/permanent contract.

The postholder will assist with monthly payroll checks to enable sign off of monthly payroll and ensure that data reported to pension administrators is accurate.

They will also provide business administration support to the HR team, mostly within the recruitment team for the intake of trainees in September 2024.

This is an opportunity to work across two corporate teams within a high-profile organisation and gain valuable experience.


Key Responsibilities


Payroll:



  • Help the team undertake payroll calculations relating to pay changes which are then compared to MHR payroll figures in the payroll reports.

  • Support review of pension interface files and dealing with data validation errors and warnings;

  • Help preparing payroll deductions spreadsheets for finance colleagues to enable them to perform monthly reconciliations;

  • Assist with preparing spreadsheets for third party payroll deductions and emailing to the relevant bodies to required deadline;

  • Help preparing Civil Service Pension Contribution spreadsheet and emailing to the Cabinet Office to required deadline;

  • Help preparing Legal & General (Legal &General) Partnership and AVC Pension Contributions spreadsheets and uploading to L&G to required deadline;

  • Assist with reporting staff salary and quantity figures to ONS Surveys on a monthly basis;

  • Share responsibility for monitoring the payroll service desk inbox and responding to queries.


HR:



  • Support on a wide range of recruitment campaigns including trainee recruitment.

    This involves creating assessment schedules; booking meeting rooms and confirming assessor availability.

  • Engage with candidates to confirm their availability for interview and answering any questions they have.

  • Send out offer packs and new starter documentation

  • Onboard candidates including entering their details into our HR employee system and ensuring all paperwork is correctly received.

  • Where needed, work with external stakeholders such as job boards and agencies.

  • Share responsibility for monitoring the HR service desk inbox and responding to queries.


Candidate Criteria



  • Experienced of working in a payroll environment previously is essential - ideally working with an outsourced payroll function

  • Good working knowledge of payroll processes and issues preferably in public sector

  • Experience of working on HR processes including onboarding of new starters, communicating across departments, etc.

    is highly desirable

  • Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
