Job Description
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for a Head of Transactional Finance to join the team on a temporary basis.

The postholder will be the principal operational and strategic lead responsible for managing and delivering Transactional Finance Services for the Council, with budget responsibility of circa £3 million per annum.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on modernisation of Transactional Finance that delivers both transformation of the service and meets the strategic channel shift required by the ‘digital first' corporate strategy.


• Ensure accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking functions are managed to perform effectively and efficiently within the Transactional Finance, meeting the needs of both internal and external customers.


• Be responsible for the operational administration, management and development of the councils SAP accounts payables and SAP accounts receivables functions and services, and payables functions relating to adult social care through Mosaic.


• Be responsible for the operational administration, management and development of the councils SAP master data and user management functions and services.


• Have responsibility for managing the Council's sundry debt programme and management of payments of SAP AR invoices totaling £620m in year

Candidate Criteria

• CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant


• Experience of working at a senior level in a transactional finance team


• Experience and knowledge of local government finance is essential


• High-level management skills with the ability to deliver strategic changes to a function


• Experience of SAP is highly desirable


• Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
