Logistics Assistant

Service Care Solutions have a vacancy for a Store Assistant to join a client they are working with in Sheffield on a temporary contract.

In this role, the Store Assistant will be working as part of a team to provide a professional, efficient and cost effective Stores, Supplies and Logistics service to the required standards and working in line with Health and Safety processes within a Warehouse.

Main duties will consist of:-



  • Issuing and receipt of Materials

  • Stores documentation checks

  • Stock checking and subsequent investigations into discrepancies

  • Monitoring of stock usage levels

  • Processing of Stock Replenishment, Low value and collect Orders

  • Expediting Stock and Low Value Orders

  • Efficient organisation of Stores and Yard stock locations to acceptable standards and keep the stores and yard areas safe, clean and tidy

  • Electronic Inputting of Stores documentation

  • Data checking of outputs from the Supplies system

  • Erection of shelving and labelling of materials

  • Work with operational staff to define, install, manage and amend van stocks in order to meet day to day stock requirements

  • Undertake visual inspection of tools, equipment and may involve using plant and machinery including fork lift truck

  • Assist in maintaining stores security at all times



Other duties will involve



  • Using IT equipment on a daily basis to ensure work is tracked and monitored

  • Report any accidents, incidents, hazards or unsafe practices in line with Health and Safety policies

  • Operate a FLT Counterbalance and Reach Truck

  • Drive company vans in order to support in delivery of items



We are seeking a candidate who is able to demonstrate the above while also having previous experience of working in a similar environment.

You will be required to:-
Hold a Full UK Driving License
Have experience of using Technology (Computers, Tablets, PDAs, Mobile Devices)
Experience of working in a Warehouse or Logistics position
Have an understanding of Health and Safety processes
Be flexible and versatile to support in other areas and work outside of normal working hours
Able to use own initiative
Hold FLT Certification (Counterbalance and Reach)

Working hours will be from 8am till 4pm Monday to Friday
