Band 8a clinical Psychologist

Are you a Psychologist seeking a new REMOTE challenge? Do you have previous experience working with Children suffering with mental Health conditions?

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist for a LOCUM contract supporting Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will provide psychological support to C&YP patients with mental Health conditions.

The contract will run for an initial period of 3 months with the likelihood of extension.



Job Purpose: Band 8a Clinical Psychologist

Pay Rate: £35.00 LTD p/h + £250 SCS Sign-Up Bonus

Location: Remote

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00

Contract: 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, using a variety of tools and techniques, to understand the needs and conditions of children and young people.

  • Develop and implement effective, evidence-based psychological interventions tailored to the individual needs of clients.

  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of interventions, adjusting approaches as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing psychological expertise to case discussions and care planning.

  • Provide consultation and training to staff and other professionals on psychological aspects of child and adolescent development and mental health.

  • Engage with families and carers, offering guidance, support, and psycho education to help them understand and manage the psychological aspects of their child's condition.

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of psychological services, ensuring they meet high standards of care and align with best practice guidelines.

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of innovative service models that enhance accessibility and effectiveness of psychological support for children and young people.

  • Provide clinical supervision and support to junior psychologists, trainees, and other mental health professionals.

  • Engage in continuous professional development, attending relevant training and keeping abreast of the latest research and developments in child and adolescent psychology.

  • Undertake and contribute to research projects, service audits, and clinical evaluations to inform and improve practice.

  • Identify and manage risks related to the psychological well-being of clients, ensuring all safeguarding protocols are followed.

  • HCPC Registration
