Role Overview:

Service Care Solutions is partnering with the London Borough of Newham to recruit a dedicated Violence Reduction Coordinator.

This role involves coordinating interventions and strategies to reduce violence across the borough, with a particular focus on gang-related violence, knife crime, and violence against women and girls (VAWG).

The successful candidate will work closely with both statutory and non-statutory agencies to ensure effective delivery of Newham's violence reduction action plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination and Strategy: Lead the delivery of violence reduction initiatives funded by MOPAC and Newham Partnership, ensuring strategic and operational goals are met.


• Partnership Development: Develop and maintain robust partnerships with key stakeholders including Police, Social Care, Health services, and community groups.


• Intervention Management: Oversee the implementation of interventions, ensuring they address key violence and vulnerability issues.


• Monitoring and Reporting: Track progress and outcomes of violence reduction strategies, providing regular updates to the Community Safety Partnership and relevant boards.


• Leadership: Manage and support staff within the violence reduction team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of violence and vulnerability related crime, with specific experience in VAWG and gang/knife crime issues.


• Proven experience in multi-agency partnership development and strategy implementation.


• Excellent project and contract management skills, including budgeting and performance monitoring.


• Strong communication and report-writing abilities, capable of engaging with senior management and community stakeholders.


• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.

Additional Information:

• Location: Based across various sites in Newham, London.


• Travel: No subsidised travel included.


• Fitness Requirement: Candidates must pass a pre-job fitness test and participate in annual safety training.


• Interview Process: Competency-based interviews will be conducted in person.
