A nationwide charity who support the homeless are recruiting for a Housing First Worker to provide a robust housing tenancy sustainment service to residents across Tower Hamlets

The Role
The key focus of the Housing First Worker role is to provide intensive, flexible, and individualized support to individuals with a history of chronic homelessness and complex needs.

The role involves helping clients secure and maintain stable housing as a foundation for improving their overall well-being and achieving long-term independence.



  • Deliver intensive, person-centred support to clients, addressing their housing, health, and social care needs through regular and flexible contact.

  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop and implement personalized support plans that focus on sustaining tenancies and improving quality of life.

  • Liaise and coordinate with local housing providers, healthcare professionals, and other relevant agencies to ensure clients receive comprehensive and integrated support services.

  • Conduct regular home visits to assess clients' needs, monitor progress, and provide ongoing support to prevent tenancy breakdown.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, support plans, and outcomes to ensure effective case management and reporting.



The Candidate
To be considered for this Housing First Worker, you will require the following skills and experience:



  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness and have complex needs, including mental health and substance abuse issues.

  • Strong understanding of the Housing First model and principles, including a commitment to providing non-judgmental, client-led support

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships and work collaboratively with clients and external partners.

  • Proven ability to manage a demanding caseload effectively, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Empathy, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals in achieving stability and independence.

  • This position offers a combination of fieldwork and office-based activities, requiring flexibility to meet clients' needs in their own environments.

    Candidates should be dedicated, compassionate, and experienced in working with complex cases to support individuals in securing and maintaining stable housing.



The Contract
This is a temporary Housing First Worker role on an initial 3 month contract which has a strong chance of being extended or made permanent.

The role is full time, working 9-5 Monday to Friday.
