Estates Surveyor

A client within the Public Sector based in the East Midland is currently recruiting for an Estate Surveyor to join their valuation team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full time, permanent position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.



The Role


Key purpose of the role is to manage the Council's built estate, seeking to challenge and redefine the existing portfolio through the valuation, disposal, acquisition.



Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:



  • Inspecting and valuing property across a broad portfolio for letting, acquisition, disposal, property management and review purposes in line with RICS professional standards.

  • Evaluating proposals for transactions or schemes for existing property or new acquisitions to redefine the portfolio.

  • Managing internal customers and tenants, dealing with day to day tenant enquiries relating to liabilities under their legal agreements such as repairs, use, service charges and rent payments

  • Assessing and negotiating a range of property transactions.



The Candidate


To be considered for this role you will be required to be educated to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge and/or experience.


The below skills would be beneficial for the role:



  • A RICS qualification; preferably full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.

  • Understanding and knowledge of commercial estates management, providing professional advisory services around strategic property management across a varied commercial property portfolio.

  • Knowledge of acquisitions and disposal including sale, CAT (Community Asset Transfer) transfer, auction and asset reprioritisation



The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £40,221 - £43,421 per annum.
