Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a London Borough Council who are seeking a Senior Contracts Solicitor to join their team on a rolling basis.

ROLE: Senior Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
LOCATION: London / hybrid working
CONTRACT: 3 months ongoing, 36 hours per week
RATE: £45.00 to £55.00 per hour umbrella

Please note that this position is hybrid working.

The Role

• To lead and manage a team of Contracts & Procurement legal professionals progressing complex caseloads


• Matters will include grant funding agreements; commercial contracts and projects, IT contracts, waste contracts, construction contracts; building contracts; collateral warranties, company and charities and public subsidy


• To be involved and lead in the negotiation and drafting of a wide range of legal agreements that are relevant to the Council's work


• To work in adherence to Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the Concession Contracts Regulations 2016, the Utility Contracts Regulations 2016 and other relevant legislations

The Person

• A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with a minimum of 2 years' PQE


• Extensive and strong technical knowledge within the field of Contracts & Procurement Law


• Experience of managing a team of lawyer would be essential for this position


• Previous local authority / public sector working experience would also be essential
