A client within the Private Sector based in East Riding of Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their project team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full time, permanent position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within the private or public sector within a construction environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to lead and manage projects, provide expert guidance to junior surveyors, and work closely with clients to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Lead and manage building surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered within budget and on schedule.


• Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of buildings, identifying defects, and providing comprehensive reports to clients.


• Offer expert advice on building regulations, planning permissions, and compliance with relevant industry standards.


• Provide guidance and support to junior surveyors, fostering their professional development.


• Liaise effectively with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require BSc in Building Surveying, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years relevant experience post qualification in building surveying, with a track record of managing projects successfully.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Proven expertise in building pathology, defect diagnosis, and building regulations.


• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and materials.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.


• Outstanding leadership and teamwork abilities, with a passion for mentoring and guiding junior staff.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering competitive salaries at approx.

£45,000 p/a including various bonuses.
