Job Description
This company is seeking a highly skilled Strategy and Commissioning Officer to join their team in Wokingham.
As a Strategy and Commissioning Officer, you will work closely with the Head of Service for Strategic Commissioning (Childrens) and other members of the Strategy, Commissioning and Performance Team to shape the direction and vision of Childrens Services in Wokingham by overseeing the development and implementation of effective strategies and policies.
Key Responsibilities
Analysing complex issues and providing strategic advice
Developing strategies and policy recommendations to support the company's objectives
Overseeing the development and implementation of effective strategies and policies
Engaging with a range of stakeholders
Writing strategies in Childrens Services (Specifically Early Intervention, Emotional Wellbeing, Sufficiency Statement, Children in Care and Care Leavers)

They are committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children who live or access services in, or who are looked after by, Wokingham Borough Council.
About the Role
The Senior SEND Officer - Grade 8
* will be responsible for supporting and coordinating on casework, attending Annual Reviews (if applicable) and school meetings for children and young people where there are concerns and potential school breakdown.
They will liaise with other professionals to ascertain children's needs and ensure that all pupils with special educational needs are appropriately placed and supported in accordance with panel decisions.
The Senior SEND Officer will also amend EHCPs in accordance with the decisions as above.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a cohort of case officers responsible for the assessment or annual review process, timeliness, and quality of outcomes.
Support colleagues with complex case management, particularly in secondary and post 16 sector.
Given specific strategic responsibilities in line with the needs of the authority to support the Team Manager.
May also lead way forward meetings and attend pre-mediation meetings to support decisions.
Requirements
Experience in working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and legislation relating to special educational needs and disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours when required.
Qualifications
Experience in a similar SEND role.
A relevant professional qualification (e.g.
SENDCO).

Role Expectations
Block management of a portfolio of residential properties including mixed tenure, RMC Freehold and leasehold blocks of flats and estates
Preparing and monitoring service charge budgets based on previous expenditure and knowledge of site
Approve invoices for expenditure for managed buildings within the delegated authority limit
Ensure regular of review of service charge expenditure is completed quarterly
Using the in-house software to ensure the timely and accurate billing of all service charges together with the service charge accountant
Undertaking regular site inspections at the developments and properties managed by the company and ensuring all follow-up works completed in a timely manner
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of property-related information, including tenancy agreements, maintenance requests, tenancy renewals, and correspondence
Conduct regular estate and property inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure action is taken for any issues identified
To carry out the management and assessment of the staff employed at the buildings including the administration of their employment, interviewing, appointing, disciplining and dismissal (if applicable) or to liaise with the recruitment agencies to ensure they carry out the same
To deal with all management and other issues and to escalate any problem issues to senior management
Liaise with contractors and maintenance personnel to ensure that all properties meet a high standard
Build relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external Stakeholders to better support residents.
Represent the Group in meetings, hearings and more
Keep up to date with current legislation and regulations related to property management
