Housing Support Worker Medway 6 Months 35 Hours A nationwide housing provider are recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to support their service users in Medway from temporary accommodation and on to independent living..The Service This Housing Support Worker role is working across four supported housing services in Maidstone, Rochester, Sittingbourne, Margate and Ramsgate.
These services work with their service users on any underlying support needs and facilitate their move on to independent living.The Role The focus of this Housing Support Worker role is to provide support to residents with their support needs to maintain their tenancy within temporary accommodation, whilst working towards attaining independent tenancy. This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
Plan and deliver effective support and safety plans with the service user referring to specialist agencies as required.
Ensure that properties are always adequately equipped, maintained, furnished, and cleaned.
Support residents to understand responsibilities that will help them keep their current tenancy.
Empower and motivate service users to identify and achieve desired outcomes.
Develop a move-on plan with service users at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for their future home.
The Candidate To be considered for this Housing Support Worker role, you will require previous experience providing a housing support service and ideally working with complex support needs, such as ex-offenders, substance misuse and mental health. The role covers a large geographical area, so access to a vehicle for work purposes is a necessity, and as the role is working with vulnerable individuals, you will also require an Enhanced DBS check.The Contract This is a full time Housing Support Worker role, working 35 hours per week between 08:00 and 22:00.
As such, there will be morning and evening shifts available with a rolling rota for Saturday on call shifts.
However, there is flexibility around this which can be discussed at interview.
