Lewisham Council are looking for a Targeting Support Officer to join their Children's Service.
This is a new role that has been created to implement the targeted termly support meetings with schools.
As a Targeting Support Officer you will:
Be responsible for the operational delivery of the targeted support meetings to all schools
Improve attendance for individual pupil's and improve overall school attendance including reducing persistent absence and sever absence
Think and act strategically, solve problems, make decisions to break down barriers that prevent or impact on the pupil being able to attend an educational setting
Gather, analyse data including using statistical releases (DfE), Wonde, FFT, Studybugs and Synergy and present information to inform processes and procedures to improve attendance
Promote and safeguard the wellbeing of pupils you come into contact with when visiting schools
Requirements
Good working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance
Significant experience working in a child-centered way, ensuring that indicators of child abuse and/or neglect are identified
Significant experience in school attendance data analysis and interpreting information to advise and guidance
Experience of working in an enforcement/investigation related discipline
Experience of working with vulnerable children and families
Experience in the field of Education Attendance/Welfare

Select and implement appropriate industry standard design specifications, codes of practice and guides to design new and improved highway layouts and facilities in urban and rural settings
