Job title: Asbestos Surveyor
Location: Portsmouth

Contract: Full time, Temporary Contract
Pay rate: £28.71 per hour Umbrella LTD

Are you an experienced Building Surveyor with a background in managing asbestos surveys? Our client is seeking a qualified and motivated Building Surveyor (Asbestos) to join their repairs and maintenance teams.

This role will be based across a variety of sites in Portsmouth, including housing stock, schools, and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct asbestos surveys and maintain asbestos registers for 15,000 housing properties and an extensive asset portfolio.


• Manage and update stock data, diagnose issues, and determine the appropriate response repairs.


• Support the delivery of asbestos management in line with the asbestos policy, including sampling, inspections, and re-inspections.


• Collaborate with specialist contractors for asbestos removal and ensure compliance with regulations.


• Provide expert advice on building-related legislation and health & safety standards.

Key Requirements:

• Degree or HNC in Building/Construction or equivalent experience in a repairs and maintenance environment.


• Extensive experience in asbestos surveying with relevant qualifications (S301, P402).


• Knowledge of health and safety legislation, particularly asbestos and construction regulations.


• Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and the ability to analyse data and write reports.


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with clients, contractors, and residents.


• Full driving license and the ability to travel across Portsmouth.
