About the role

To support the Technical Officer and deliver the specialist element of the highway service and operations that are attributed to the post.

This post holder is responsible for ensuring that all relevant county policies and procedures are adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with these policies

Responsibilities

• Pro-actively deliver the element of the service in all aspects of successful project delivery


• To act as a supporting member of the team within the identified field of the job description e.g.
  
  drainage, trees, bridges etc.


• Maintaining excellent, effective working relationships with stakeholders and operational teams.


• Manage own workload and the resources required to ensure successful project delivery.


• To assume direct responsibility for budget monitoring.


• Promote a strong customer service focus within the Service and where possible take account of customer requirements.


• Promote and deliver improved communication with individual residents, communities, other local authorities and key stakeholders, in ways that are clear, coherent and jargon free.

Requirements

• Education to level 2/3/4 NVQ or equivalent in a related discipline or experience of working in a local government environment for a period of 5 years


• Appropriate specific technical qualifications related to the service such as monitoring street works or an arboriculturally qualification (not an exhaustive list)


• Experience of managing schemes and projects


• Ability to use word processing, spread sheets and presentation software


• Experience of carrying out data collection and analysis


• Basic budget management skills
