Job Title - Social Media Manager

Role summary - Our client is seeking a flexible and experienced Social Media Manager to join their communications team.

This pivotal role involves advising on and managing social media channels to promote work and messages.

The Social Media Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy, create engaging content, and work closely with stakeholders to enhance our clients online presence.


Key Responsibilities:


Social Media Strategy: Develop and maintain a social media strategy, creating and curating content across all platforms.


Advisory Role: Provide expert advice on social media matters to effectively communicate our messages.


Content Creation: Produce and edit videos, maintain a blog, and attend events to generate content.


Engagement: Use KPIs and metrics to improve reach and engagement, and follow up on social media interactions to develop online relationships.


Coordination: Liaise with the communications team to ensure a cohesive social media presence across departments.


Reporting: Regularly report on social media progress and issues, and draft a social media code of conduct for the team.


Requirements:


Experience: Minimum of three years in digital communications, with a deep understanding of audience engagement and social media algorithms.


Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Premier, video editing, strong communication, and teamwork skills.

Ability to write engaging copy in an appropriate and consistent voice.


Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of major social media platforms, search engine optimisation, and a passion for politics and social justice.


Qualifications: NCTJ qualification and experience working in political environments are desirable.
