Business Support Officer

Job Title - Business Support Officer


Location - Darlington DL1


Contract - Temp Ongoing


Hours - 25


Role summary - As a Business Support Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our clients Services.

Your responsibilities will include a wide range of administrative tasks, data management, and customer service activities.

You will be the backbone of our support services, helping to maintain accurate records, manage communications, and assist with financial and facilities management.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Handle emails, copying, scanning, faxing, archiving, and post.

    Provide telephone coverage and assist other teams as needed.

  • Input and update records in various systems, perform basic audits, and ensure data accuracy.

  • Address enquiries effectively via telephone and face-to-face, provide routine information, and take messages.

  • Set up meeting rooms, ensure availability of required resources, and assist attendees.

  • Manage routine invoicing, create purchase orders, handle petty cash, and take payments.

  • Produce standard reports and presentations, maintain and update spreadsheets.

  • Act as the Printer champion, manage public information literature, and support reception services or financial administration as required.


Requirements:



  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Math.

  • Previous experience in an administrative or business support role.

  • Experience in data entry and management.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Ability to use multiple electronic record-keeping systems.

  • Competence in creating and maintaining spreadsheets, including the use of basic formulas.

  • Basic knowledge of office equipment (printers, fax machines, scanners).

  • Experience in handling telephone and face-to-face enquiries.

  • Ability to provide clear and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Previous experience with invoicing, creating purchase orders, and petty cash handling.

  • Familiarity with goods receipts, invoice coding, and resolving financial queries.

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Proactive approach to managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
