About the role


To lead a team providing fire door inspection and repairs and improvements to council owned dwellings, properties managed by Housing & Landlord Services, to ensure compliance with the building safety Act.



Responsibilities



  • Responsible for ensuring high quality work from operatives, getting work “right-first- time” and achieving high customer satisfaction whilst staying within budgetary targets and providing a cost effective, value for money service.

  • Lead on the management, monitoring and development of a portfolio to ensure sustainable development and/or best value i.e.: - materials and equipment, health and safety, Service Level Agreement/contract compliance, fleet management.

  • Manage, direct and coordinate operational resources (e.g.

    operatives, fleet, materials, tools) to optimise usage and ensure sufficient availability to undertake relevant response and planned work as directed by the council's scheduling system.

  • Ensure staff performance meets a high standard of delivery and customer satisfaction through the setting, and regular monitoring, of team and individual targets, identifying and providing continuous development opportunities and the effective management of any performance issues within an appropriate timescale.

  • Plan and manage staffing resources, external contractors and suppliers to ensure the completion and co-ordination of work and provision of services in order to optimise end-to-end outputs within a timely manner, whilst maintaining a high quality service.



Requirements



  • A trade or technical qualification or significant experience in one or more of the following trades: gas, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, glazing or general trades.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of health & safety issues and requirements related to the construction industry.

  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or equivalent including the following: Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and have a willingness to learn new applications and technology as appropriate.
