Service Care Solutions are working with Midlands Partnership NHS Trust to recruit a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to support an Acute Mental Health Inpatient Service in the Shrewsbury area.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Therapy Service and provide support to Adults with a range of Mental Health conditions.



The contract duration is for 3 months with the likelihood of extension.

This is a full-time placement with 37.5 hours available.

Part-time applications of 3 Days or more will also be considered.



Shifts: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:30

Location: Shrewsbury

Pay: £25.00 p/h LTD

Bonus: £250 Sign-Up Bonus

Job Purpose - Band 6 Occupational Therapist

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, carrying a defined clinical caseload for individuals.

The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapy for Adults with various mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities



  • Assessments:

    • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for mental health inpatients.

    • Use standardised tools to evaluate functional abilities and therapeutic needs.



  • Treatment and Intervention:

    • Develop personalised treatment plans based on assessments and evidence-based practices.

    • Deliver therapy sessions to improve daily living skills and mental health symptoms.



  • Evaluation and Adjustment:

    • Monitor progress using outcome measures and adjust treatment plans accordingly.



  • Collaboration:

    • Work with psychiatrists, nurses, and other professionals to coordinate patient care.



  • Education and Support:

    • Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and community resources.



  • Development and Compliance:

    • Contribute to service improvement projects and stay updated with occupational therapy practices.



  • Risk Management:

    • Conduct risk assessments and manage situations according to protocols.

  • Occupational Therapy qualification

  • HCPC Registration
