Job Title - Administration Assistant
Location - Peterlee SR8 2JQ

Become an Administration Assistant in County Durham, supporting Regeneration and Local Services.

Transform administrative processes, collaborate with teams, and ensure efficient service delivery.

Proven experience in delivering results, promoting team culture, and managing change is essential.

Strong ICT skills required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support in a customer-focused environment within Regeneration and Local Services.

  • Collaborate with various teams including Building & FM Services, Clean & Green, Neighbourhood Protection, and more.

  • Transform existing systems to promote electronic data interchange and streamline processes.

  • Challenge existing methods to develop lean systems.

  • Assist in developing procedural guidance notes.

  • Ensure efficient communication channels and participate in team meetings.

  • Identify and address risks within the service area.

  • Promote a positive culture and contribute to continuous service improvement.

  • Handle invoices and ensure compliance with procedures.

  • Rotate duties to provide cover during absences.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support fluctuations in workload.

  • Conduct relevant risk assessments and manage post handling efficiently.

  • Work with support staff to provide documents for insurance claims.

  • Ensure efficient use of resources and alignment with business needs.

  • Undertake additional duties as directed by management.


  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (desirable).

  • Proven experience delivering results and promoting a positive team culture.

  • Proficiency in ICT packages, experience with Oracle (desirable).

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Knowledge of electronic post facilities and risk management processes.

  • Commitment to excellent customer service and willingness to travel.
