Long-term Locum Pharmacist Manager

A bustling Bournemouth pharmacy with great links to local health and care providers is looking for a Pharmacist to join them as a Pharmacist Manager, ideally on a long-term locum basis.

Only a short distance from local amenities, GP and care home services, and the beach, the pharmacy is set in a prime location for convenient healthcare – dispensing around 7,000 items per month and offering a wide range of NHS and private services (including travel and vaccine clinics, emergency contraceptives, lifestyle support, screening/testing services and more).

As Pharmacist Manager, you will deliver and develop enhanced pharmacy services, heading up daily operations and supporting a strong, diverse team in providing an outstanding patient experience (to be rewarded via a performance-based bonus scheme).

By building strong relationships with other local healthcare professionals, you will take part in a collaborative community network that cares for patients with varied and evolving healthcare needs.

Following a successful long-term commitment, there may also be scope for you to be supported with training and development (including your IP qualification if applicable) and the potential for enterprising individuals to buy shares in the business.

The pharmacy is typically open between 8.30am and 6.30pm, Mon-Fri, no weekends.

Full-time coverage would be preferred but there is flexibility available for 4 days per week.

While a self-employed / locum arrangement would be preferred, a permanent PAYE contract can also be considered.


Person specification:

  • (Essential) GPhC-accredited MPharm degree or equivalent
  • (Essential) Registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacist
  • (Preferred) Previous experience handling pharmacy management responsibilities
