I am currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority for an Assistant Accountant in Staffordshire (Hybrid) to support the Housing development and growth directorate of the Council.

ROLE: Assistant Accountant
LOCATION: Staffordshire (Hybrid)
CONTRACT: 7 months (Ongoing)
RATE: £60+ per hour UMBRELLA (May be flexible for the right candidate)

The Role of Assistant Accountant

• Supporting budget setting and monthly financial monitoring


• Transactional work - reconciliations, preparation of journals, recharges


• Provision of reports and data to support budgets managers


• Supporting the production of the statement of accounts - audit queries and information

The Person required for Assistant Accountant.

• AAT qualified / equivalent or have a relevant degree with an understanding of accounting and budgetary control.


• Has previous experience in a similar role within a Council and understanding of local government financial accounting


• Exceptional people skills.
