A client within the Public Sector based in Oxfordshire is currently recruiting for a Climate Policy & Programmes Team leader to join their sustainability team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to manage a team of specialists and contractors to ensure the client has a strong suite of coherent policy, strategy, and evidence to deliver sustainable new development in Oxfordshire, reduce existing emissions and support our communities to be resilient to a changing climate.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Developing our ability to respond to planning applications and support development of planning policy that can positively impact development in Oxfordshire.


• Providing expert support into the development of policy and strategy across the organisation so the council's full suite of policy that influences outcomes in Oxfordshire encourages climate action.


• Ensure the client has KPIs, evidence and data to support reporting on progress on climate mitigation and adaptation in Oxfordshire and meet our climate targets and UK100 commitments.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to be educated to degree level in a relevant subject such as environmental management, climate science, environmental policy, or equivalent professional experience.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £45,495.00 - £48,500.00 per annum.
