A client within the Public Sector based in Somerset is currently recruiting for a Head of Planning to join their Name of team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to deliver complex services, including through partnership working and commissioning, requiring strategic thinking and a clear focus on delivering performance.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Develop operational plans and operating procedures for specific service area/s, in

line with relevant strategy and corporate priorities.

• Lead the planning and design of specific services, identifying opportunities for improvement.


• Lead and manage service delivery, including delivery through partners to ensure that it meets or exceeds objectives and targets and complies with relevant legislation and standards.
  
  

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Considerable knowledge and expertise across service area and/or deep professional or technical knowledge and expertise in specific service area.


• Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and standards.
  
  

• Thorough professional understanding of the issues facing the service area, both at a local and national level, with an awareness of future challenges and issues

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £700 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
