A Local Authority based in South East London is currently recruiting for a Building Control Surveyor to join their Team as soon as possible.

This is an ongoing contract on full time basis offering hybrid working from the office in South East London, the ideal candidate must have experience working with Building Control.

The purpose of the role is to implement and enforce the current Building Regulations and allied legislation, and to deliver Building Control services including giving advice to applicants and other departments.

Responsibilities:

• Examination of deposited plans to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations and allied legislation, the detailing of notices and preparing recommendations with necessary consultations.


• Inspection during progress of works to which the Building Regulations apply to ensure compliance.


• Advise the public, builders, agents and other departments on building control matters so as to ensure high level of customer care and improve the quality of applications submitted.


• Investigation and reporting of unauthorised or contravening works, preparing evidence and attending for Court hearings as necessary to ensure Enforcement of Building Regulations.


• Detection, initial investigation and reporting of dangerous structures, including out of hours where required and, when necessary, attending Court hearings to ensure public safety

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering up to £500 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 based on experience.
