SEND Advice and Support Service Co-Ordinator

SEND Advice and Support Co-ordinator needed with Slough Borough Council



Start Date- ASAP


Location - Slough


Duration - Initially 3 months


Hours per week - 37 hours per week


Salary - £17.80 per hour



Description:



  • SEND Co-ordinators are required to undertake and assess individual casework providing children and young people with SEND and their parents and carers with accurate and impartial information, advice and support relevant to their level of need.

  • SEND advice and support co-ordinators are required to ensure that service users understand the local authority processes for statutory assessment and are supported through the Education, Health and Care Planning (EHCP) process including Independent Support.

  • As a SEND support co-ordinator, you will liaise with schools, education settings, other organisations and parents and young people regarding assessment, placement support and any other matter of interest or concern a parent or young person may have in relation to the statutory remit of SENDIASS

  • To display a genuine commitment to partnership working relationships with parents, pupils, young people, schools, early years settings, colleges, children centre staff, statutory and voluntary agencies and other organisations to ensure SENDIASS statutory duties are effectively undertaken and that parents, young people and providers are confident the information is legally accurate and impartial



What is required?



  • At least three years experience within an educational, health or social care environment

  • Previous experience in a SENDIASS

  • Level 2 IPSEA Legal Training
