Business Design Analyst - Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ)

Pay Rate: Up to £550 per day

Job Summary:


As a Business Design Analyst, you will play a vital role within the team, undertaking analysis and design activities to create innovative solutions for priority business challenges.

Working under the guidance of a Business Design Lead, you will contribute to a range of change pillar initiatives by providing expert design services.


Our Business Design team consists of a diverse blend of police staff, contractors, and consultants.

Together, we foster innovation and excellence, crafting operating model designs that significantly enhance our ability to mitigate threats, risks, and harm.


Key Tasks: The role encompasses the following responsibilities:



  • Conduct analysis to define the scope of change activities, identifying business challenges and opportunities to guide necessary change.

  • Analyze the CT Policing Network to design effective operating model solutions for priority change initiatives within the Change Pillar portfolio.

  • Execute design from strategy to execution, encompassing all three levels (conceptual, logical, and physical), to ensure the development of coherent operating models.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders in CTPHQ and the CT Policing Network.

  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of business design templates aligned with the CTP Business Design Handbook.

  • Serve as a representative of Business Design in relevant change initiative meetings and boards, offering subject matter expertise.



Key Skills:
Essential:



  • Proficiency in all design levels (conceptual, logical, and physical).

  • Experience in business analyst activities using formal methodologies and approaches, including data collection and analysis to provide concise and meaningful recommendations.

  • Proficiency in business operating model development.

  • Skill in creating design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Understanding of the change lifecycle and business case development.

  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders within a large organisation, manage expectations, address conflicting requirements, and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Familiarity with the CT Policing Network and partner agencies.


Desirable:



  • Professional Business Analysis qualification through examination (e.g., BCS BA Diploma).

  • Prior experience in a policing and/or security environment.

  • Proven ability to build confidence and establish relationships with stakeholders at various levels.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the CT Policing Network, including London (MPS), National (UK Force wide), and international responsibilities, as well as relationships with Government, security and intelligence agencies, and governance arrangements.

  • Experience in a challenging, change-driven environment.
