Job Description
Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for an Accountancy Business Change Manager to join their team on a temporary basis.

This role is one of 13 staff that manage the Accountancy Business Partnership Services and supports the Heads of Accounting and Business Change.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the Operational delivery of the finances of the area that they are responsible for, ensuring the development of these services in response to changes in legislation, Council Policy and the medium term financial position of the Council.


• Ensure that Financial Procedures and practices are appropriate to the current legislation and Strategic Direction of the Council, and that the Council meets its section 151 responsibilities.


• Interpret government legislation and other materials in order to develop strategies, policies and practices that help maintain the financial stability and probity of the Council


• Monitor the financial position/impacts of the areas responsible for, ensuring that any issues that affect materially on the financial position of the Council are identified and brought to the attention of the responsible officers

Candidate Criteria

• CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant with extensive experience in Local Government


• Experience of Operational Finance including the development of service areas


• Extensive knowledge of Local Government finance to ensure operations are in line with legislation and policies


• Experience at Deputy S151 level is highly desirable


• Great communication skills with the ability to lead an efficient service
