Adult Social Care Debt Recovery Lawyer

Service Care Legal are currently working alongside a Local Authority, based Derbyshire, which is in need of a Debt Recovery Lawyer to join their Adult Social Care legal team.

Role: Debt Recovery Lawyer - Adult Social Care team


Location: Derbyshire.

Remote working on offer for experienced candidates


Contract Length: 3 months ongoing


Rate: £45-£55ph umbrella


Qualifications: Solicitor/Legal Executive or Barrister


The responsibilities involved in the Adult Social Care Debt Recovery Lawyer role:



  • Deal with your own Adult Social Care Debt Recovery caseload from start to completion

  • There will be some other Debt Recovery work also

  • Conduct the recovery of claims within the Litigation and Governance Section of the Legal and Democratic Services Division



  • Provide legal and procedural advice on debt recovery matters including co-funding and accommodation charge debts, recovery claims and to conduct such cases before the Court.


The Candidate:



  • Must be a qualified Solicitor/Lawyer or Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years PQE in Adult Social Care Debt Recovery law

  • Ideally someone who has worked for a Local Authority legal department



  • The successful applicant will need to have civil litigation experience (including small claims and fast track work) along with excellent advocacy, organisational, problem solving, analytical and communication skills
