Clinical Pharmacist
Newly qualified or wanting to diversify? Looking to get started in hospital services?
A local provider of acute and specialist medical care has a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacist to join their extensive team of over 70 pharmacists.
This modern service benefits from full electronic prescribing, decision support and automated dispensaries in their main inpatient and outpatient departments.
You will, however, spend over 90% of your time outside of dispensaries on direct patient care, allowing you to broaden your clinical skills by interacting with patients and other clinicians within the multidisciplinary team.
To give you a solid foundation across all clinical pharmacy specialties, you will undertake rotations across the hospital.
This will see you gain training and experience whilst providing integrated medicines management (IMM) services on the wards, in the dispensaries and in additional clinical areas, with options including (but not limited to):
- Acute Medicine
- Emergency Medicine
- Theatres & Surgery
- Care of the Elderly
- Family Care
You will be fully supported to gain your clinical diploma, build a portfolio aligned to the RPS Post Registration Core Competency Framework (if applicable), and attain your independent prescribing accreditation further down the line.
This is a permanent, full-time role for a Clinical Pharmacist.
The site provides services across a 7-day working week on a rotational basis and you may be asked to contribute to the on-call rota, which is likely to be a commitment of one night in 4-6 weeks.
Candidates will have:
- Registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacist.
- A strong interest in professional development.
It is beneficial but not required to have:
- Previous experience within a hospital pharmacy setting, such as during your pre-registration year.
Newly Qualified Pharmacists are welcome to apply, including anyone who wishes to transfer into the hospital sector.
Benefits/enhancements include:
- Generous pension scheme
- 27 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 33 days with length of service
- Substantial learning & development opportunities including clinical, non-clinical and management development training facilities
- Occupational health services and Employee Assistance Programme for physical, emotional & mental health support
- Childcare support schemes
- Access to dedicated staff fitness centre
- Staff recognition, reward, and lottery schemes
- Cycle to Work and other salary sacrifice schemes
- Comprehensive discount schemes for retail, leisure activities, travel, etc.
