Service Care Solutions are the current holders of the Probation Service contract.

We specialise in the criminal justice sector and have access to all vacancies across the country offering a wide range of opportunities!

We are working with a large offender charity to find an Interventions Officer to cover the Warrington area.

LOCATION: Hybrid with a commute to both HMP Risley and central Warrington where necessary.
HOURS: 37 hours per week.

9-5 Mon-Fri
DURATION: initial 12 weeks with extension possibilities
PAY RATE: £15.00 per hour ltd

You'll support offenders both in custody and as they reintegrate into society.

Focusing on their wellbeing and lifestyle, you'll provide a tailored service ensuring they have the skills and confidence they need to live successfully in the community.

You'll give in-depth advice and support, so we'll need your ability to motivate others and facilitate learning to change attitudes and behaviour, with the aim to avoid the possibility of re-offending.

Interventions Officer Responsibilities



  • Work with adult offenders, both pre and post release

  • Support offenders with practical skills such as budgeting, meal planning and overall wellbeing.

  • Opportunities to run learning sessions and skill workshops e.g.

    CV writing, interview skills, application skills and personal development.

  • Develop and embed a high-quality performance culture in which professional standards are upheld and participants enabled to achieve positive change

  • Action referrals received from Probation Practitioners and other relevant staff within the timescales of the contract

  • Undertake any required skills training in order to enhance group-work delivery

  • Update and maintain an electronic database to record service user attendance and achievement and generate statistics and prepare reports and case studies.


Interventions Officer Skills and Experience



  • Previous experience of working as a peer mentor within the prison environment, probation setting or charity, or as a community volunteer

  • Experience in working with groups or individuals in order to motivate and change behaviour.

  • Experience working with a variety of people who have experienced a range of social/personal difficulties
