Service Care Legal are working with a local authority, based in Derbyshire, which is in need of an Education (SEN) Lawyer to join their legal department.

The role is required due to an expansion within the team.

ROLE: Education (SEN) Lawyer

LOCATION: Derbyshire - remote working

RATE: £45-£55ph

CONTRACT: 4 months ongoing, 37 hours per week

The role of an Education Lawyer

• To manage a full caseload from inception to completion related to SEN Law matters


• Cases will include SEN, Tribunals, Disability Discrimination, School exclusions, judicial reviews and admission appeals


• To provide other legislative advice to council members when required


• To occasionally attend hearings where necessary (this can be done remotely)

The Person

• A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with at least 2+ years of PQE within Education Law and specifically recent SEN Law experience


• Previous working within a local authority or public body would be highly desirable


• Candidates must have experience of SEN Tribunals and be able to manage a case load of SEN tribunal cases
