
Commercial Quantity Surveyor
Our Client within the Housing Sector is currently recruiting for a Commercial Cost & Performance Manager (Quantity Surveyor) to join their Retrofit team as soon as possible in North London.
This is a full time, Temporary position on an ongoing basis and the ideal candidate will have experience of property maintenance with detailed knowledge of housing construction, component replacement and budget control and management.
The propose of the role is to be responsible for the contract management of the organisation's Capital Investment Contracts (JCT/MF1/TAC-1 etc).
To have ownership of contract analysis and benchmarking, contract compliance and reporting performance outputs in terms of strategic delivery of capital investment components to our residents' homes and ensuring value for money is being achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Operational contract decision-making authority in relation to the post
- Co-ordinating/chairing Core and Project and Alliance meetings
- Responsible for reporting into quarterly Strategic meetings
- Preparation of elemental cost plans/projections and analysis with agreed programme/budgets and contract recommendation reports
- Undertake open book reviews in line with TPC to ensure value for money
- Responsible for preparation and report on expenditure against budget at Strategic level
- Support the Project Team in their management of budget, seeking efficiency savings and ensuring that all works are costed in line with framework rates, developing reports for RAG approval for rate adjustments.
- Leading on supply chain collaboration and other core group/Alliance activities and value engineering studies
- Advising and supporting on procurement strategy for long and short term agreements
- Responsible for the contract administration of the Capital Investment programme.
- Ownership, management, and successful resolution of contract management issues.
Including consultation across the Alliance with all stakeholders; drafting and issuing of change instructions, procedure notes, policy guidance, etc. - Issuing works ordersas well as instructions at Project and Contract level
Requirements:
- Experienced and qualified property maintenance professional with detailed knowledge of housing construction, component replacement and budget control and management.
- RICS/CIOB or relevant professional qualification or experience.
- Degree level qualified or equivalent relevant professional qualification or qualified by experience.
- Excellent working knowledge/understanding across a range of construction contracts and their associated contractual provisions, possessing the skill and experience to know when and how to apply them.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and the inter-relation between trades and construction operations so that the changes and the impact of the changes can be traced.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £430 - £470 Per Day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 to join their team.
