Medway Council are recruiting for a Suppport worker to join them


Salary £26,874 - £32,723


MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB


To assist in the management, development, and delivery of services to children and young people in accordance with safeguarding and caring regulations.


To lead shifts in the home, allocating tasks and areas of responsibility whilst on shift, ensuring records are completed and that there is a comprehensive handover.


To deputise in the absence of the registered manager or deputy.


ACCOUNTABILITIES


Lead, manage and motivate staff, ensuring high quality professional supervision and performance development plans are completed which enhance individuals personal and professional development needs and contribute towards the outcomes delivered for children and young people.


To ensure that services are delivered to the required standards and in accordance with safeguarding and caring regulations.

Ensure records of incidents are completed promptly and accurately.


Contribute to the day to day care of the children and young people including providing personal, health, social and domestic care in accordance with their care plans.


Liaise with service users and families/carers, compiling records of actions and observations, to ensure needs are met through communication and building strong relationships.


Ensure all information relating to Children and Young People is accurate and up-to-date and that essential record keeping is completed by staff at the end of shift.

Maintain accurate records of progress towards the achievement of agreed goals for Children and Young People.


Administer and record the signing in and out of all medication and always ensure the safe storage of medication in line with the home's policy.


Contribute to the development of the service and assist with programme design, to ensure quality standards are achieved.


To act as a keyworker for children and young people , taking a lead on planning, outcomes and liaison for the child/young person as well as undertaking one to one activities.


To promote and actively maintain the health and wellbeing of each child or young person in accordance with the Council's policies and procedures.

To fully understand and be aware of the commitment to Section 17 of the duty of Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder.


At the discretion of the Head of Service, such other activities as may from time to time may be agreed consistent with the nature of the job described above.
