Financial Investigator - Drive Financial Intelligence at the Home Office

Location: Manchester - Onsite Pay Rate: £500 Umbrella Rate

Job Summary: Are you a skilled Financial Investigator? Join us and take a lead role in advancing financial investigations aligned with relevant policies and legislative requirements.

Your expertise will be crucial in maximising the effective use of POCA and other legislation.

Collaborating within a larger case team, you'll ensure all legal and operational prerequisites are met, working towards preparing cases for submission for charge advice and/or judicial outcomes.

With your meticulous approach, you'll draft and apply for financial orders at Magistrates / Crown court, analyze financial material, and maintain your Financial Investigator accreditation.

Be a confident communicator, capable of presenting evidence in court with clarity, integrity, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, develop, and progress financial investigations in line with policy and legislative standards.


• Assume lead financial investigation roles within a case team, ensuring legal and operational requirements are met.


• Draft and apply for financial orders at Magistrates / Crown court.


• Analyze financial material, primarily bank statements.


• Complete mandatory training and maintain relevant Financial Investigator accreditation.


• Present evidence in court with clarity, integrity, and professionalism.

Essential Experience:

• Qualified Financial Investigator with the ability to produce production orders for court presentation.


• Financial restraint and confiscation qualification preferred (considering without).


• Accredited Financial Investigator or lapsed accreditation within the reactivation period.


• Managing serious / complex financial investigations through the justice system.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including conveying complex financial detail to non-experts.


• Proficient in IT (particularly MS Excel and Word), including creating and understanding spreadsheets.


• Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.

• Pay Rate to Candidate: £500 Umbrella Rate


• Minimum Requirement: Financial Investigator experience


• Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance is essential
