Senior SEND Lawyer
Service Care Legal are working with a local authority, based in Norfolk, which is in need of a Senior Lawyer to join their Education legal team to handle SEND matters on behalf of the council.
ROLE: Senior SEND Lawyer
LOCATION: Norfolk (remote working available)
RATE: £45-£60ph umbrella depending upon experience
CONTRACT: 6-12 months, 37 hours a week
The Role
- To manage a full caseload from inception to completion related to SEND Law matters
- Cases will include SEND, Tribunals, Disability Discrimination, School exclusions, judicial reviews and admission appeals
- To provide other legislative advice to council members when required
- Assist with the management of the SEND legal team
The Person
- A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with 3+ years of PQE within Education Law and specifically SEND Law experience (Non-qualified candidates with strong experience will also be considered)
- Previous local authority or public sector experience is essential
- Candidates must have experience of SEND Tribunals and be able to manage a case load of SEND tribunal cases
- Ideally someone with prior management experience at a Local Authority
