Working Well Occupational Health Service is a member of the Health @ Work network of Occupational Health Units in England.

The service is hosted by the Gloucester Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust and provides Occupational Health services to the NHS Health community within Gloucestershire.

In addition the service has a sizeable external portfolio of non-NHS, private and public clients.

Services are provided to approximately 20,000 employees in total.

The Services main Headquarters is at Working Well, Rikenel, Montpellier, Gloucester, GL1 1LY.The role is predominately peripatetic at sites throughout Gloucestershire and non-NHS organisations

Job Responsibilities



  • To perform health surveillance/fitness for work procedures such as, spirometry, audiometry, skin assessments, HAVS screening tier 2, , Safety critical assessments and vision screening in line with service level agreements and in accordance with standard protocols.

  • Undertake Biological monitoring - collecting samples - eg urine or breath /blood to measure materials potentially exposed to employees within their job role.

    Review results and escalate if needed to contracts lead

  • Undertake venepuncture in line with OH protocols where required.

  • Undertake lifestyle assessments for staff which will include blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar tests as part of health promotion activities and specific medicals

  • To participate in health promotion and health and wellbeing activities taking into account Government initiatives such as smoking cessation, Know your numbers, Stress awareness and Men's health

  • Participate in audit for clinical practice and assist with data collection for research

  • Ensure clear and accurate records are kept in line with NMC guidelines for records and record keeping

  • To work within clear pathways/Protocols and to liaise with Senior OH Practitioners where results are outside of agreed parameters.

  • Educate employers and employees about workplace safety such as hearing protection



We also offer a £150 bonus for starting a contract with Service Care Solutions, this will be paid to you after your 4th week of work.
