Job Description

Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for an Income & Debt Officer on an interim basis.

Main Responsibilities:

• The effective and efficient collection of income in accordance with the targets stipulated by the Sundry Income and Multiple Debt Team Manager


• Case escalation to the Sundry Income and Multiple Debt Team Manager as appropriate


• Prompt resolution of queries via effective liaison with customers and council managers


• Resolution of unique and diverse debt cases via creative and innovative solutions requiring expert knowledge of service provision and credit management


• Deputise for the Team Manager as required

Ideal Candidate

• Experience in recovering debts from customers including recovering council debts for one or more services from residents


• Experience of using IT Systems for debt collection/recovery


• Experience of providing innovative solutions and providing debt payment plans to customers


• Great communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with customers by phone, correspondence and in person to recover debts
