
Estates Surveyor
A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for an Estates Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible.
The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a capital environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to manage the council's broad commercial property portfolio including industrial, retail, residential and mixed-use developments
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Overseeing valuations and negotiations in relation to any property transactions as well as pursuing breaches of lease and covenants, and other property related transactions.
- Monitoring the need for and arranging energy performance assessments, asbestos surveys, legionella testing, gas and electrical safety checks, and any other health and safety requirements to ensure the Council complies with relevant legislation.
- Establishing, managing and ensuring adequate control of ownership records, and ensuring the Council maintains accurate property management records.
- Managing and providing instructions to outside contractors to ensure effective delivery of services, including professional property services and repairs work as required.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require a degree or equivalent plus a relevant professional qualification e.g.
RICS or related property qualification or substantial evidenced experience in the property industry.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
- At least 5 years' experience of working in estates / property management, or a similar environment relevant to the post.
- Experience of managing large and complex property portfolios.
- Experience of strategic and business planning at management level
- Experience of commercial property management.
- Experience of working with the public, community and private sectors.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £500 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
