A client within the Public Sector based in Oxfordshire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to provide professional advice on property and construction and to undertake minor works and planned maintenance projects.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• To prepare and deliver a variety of schemes to the required budget and programme and to predetermined standards


• Prepare design drawings, full specification, and contract documentation (JCT and NEC suite of contracts) for procurement of contractors on a variety of property types


• Deal with planning and building regulation applications and advise on property legislation

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require:

• Minimum qualification of BTEC HNC in Building Studies.


• Progressively working towards or have achieved professional qualifications of either the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• To have held a position in a Local Authority or other organisation with responsibilities which can demonstrate the necessary experience to meet the essential skills and aptitudes.
  
  Political awareness and ability to operate in a political environment.
  
  

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £28 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
