Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in the Somerset area who are seeking a Legal Team Manager to oversee the Childcare Law team.

ROLE: Legal Team Manager - Childcare
LOCATION: Somerset / hybrid
RATE: £60.00 to £68.00
CONTRACT: 6 months, 37 hours per week

Please note that this position would be hybrid working, at least 2 days in the office per week.

The Role

• To mange a team of Childcare legal professionals (Lawyers and Paralegals) in the day-to-day running of the team


• To supervise in progressing full caseloads through to completion of complex childcare law matters


• To deliver training to the team as a whole


• To assist with DOLS and the more complex cases

The Person

• A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years' PQE


• Previous local authority working experience within Childcare Law would be essential for this position


• Previous management / supervisory experience would be essential for this position


• Contested advocacy experience would be required for this position
