A client within the Public Sector based in South Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Project Manager - Engineering to join their transport team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for delivering effective co-ordination of the service's transport projects and management of their inter-dependencies including oversight of any risks and issues arising.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• planning and designing the project and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action


• regular reporting and progress updates to programme manager


• ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the project


• managing the project's budget, monitoring expenditure and costs and expenditure

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require demonstrable knowledge of project management methodologies such MSP, PRINCE2, Association of Project Managers (APM) and/or Project Management Institute (PMI).

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• experience in managing external consultants and contractors to deliver against agreed programme and budgets


• experience of writing reports including progress reports, for a wide range of stakeholders


• Preferably good experience of NEC contracts with experience procurement frameworks within the transport sector

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £40 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
