Youth Justice Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Youth Justice Officer to work in partnership with a multi-disciplinary service to meet the risks and needs of a diverse cohort of children and young people in Luton.

LOCATION: Luton
HOURS: 37 per week
DURATION: Ongoing Contract
PAY RATE: £23-£25 per hour ltd

Youth Justice Officer Capabilities
, Ability to engage with young people and parents and empathise with their perspective.

Adopting a child first approach.
, Ability to identify, assess, and address risks presented by young people to themselves and others, with good analytical skills and sound judgement
, Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and to use IT to record work effectively
, Ability to manage relationships with young people in a firm and fair way, supporting compliance where possible and taking enforcement action where necessary
, Well organised with the ability to work effectively and professionally under pressure.
, Ability to build effective relationships with partners and work across organisational boundaries

Requirements

• Ability to recognise and act on Child Protection and risk issues and escalate as appropriate.


• Ability to use a range of assessment frameworks


• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills in order to engage effectively with a range of audiences including professional stakeholders.
