Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist to work in an amazing hospital based in the Charlwood, Surrey area.

You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers



This is a large purpose-built medium-secure service with good facilities.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will provide care and support for adult men 18+ with a forensic background and enduring mental health illnesses such as personality disorder, substance misuse issues and behaviours that challenge

As the Occupational Therapist your key duties include:



  • Plan and implement individual and group interventions collaboratively with service users

  • Actively implement evidence-based practice

  • Maintain accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital and professional standard

  • Establish effective communication with patients and their cares, all staff and other agencies

  • Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid mental health recovery

  • To fulfil a variety of duties and responsibilities associated with maintaining a caseload, meeting the standards set in the Occupational Therapy department care-pathway while adhering to HPC regulations

  • Complete full assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes as per department care-pathway, enabling the patient in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure



The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:



  • Evidence of fieldwork and or employment within the Rehabilitation field of Psychiatry

  • Member of British Association of Occupational Therapy

  • Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting



The successful Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent salary of £27,500 per annum.

This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week.
