
Project Manager
Service Care Solutions are looking for a Project manager to work within the North Wales Police Force on a 12-month contract.
Location: Colwyn Bay
Job role/Responsibilities:
To support North Wales Police to deliver it's change projects and programmes through co-ordination of change programmes and projects, ensuring that deadlines are met, and products are delivered to a high quality within time scales.
- To review and respond to the designated strategic objectives of the project, understanding the impact on the organisation, present capabilities, and barriers to the achievement of objectives.
- To work with business teams to gather requirements, create specifications and develop new solutions or enhance existing applications within scope of the project.
- To undertake investigative work to confirm the availability of existing technology or the potential for innovation to achieve stated project objectives or improvement to existing business processes.
- To identify required changes or opportunities for improvement of existing business processes, gathering relevant performance or other information to evidence and provide rationale for options presented.
- To combine technological and business change into overall workable solutions and communicate and justify options to a project board or senior audience, either verbally or via preparation of business case or other project documentation.
- To identify and monitor benefits, disadvantages, risks, costs, and timescales associated with the work package or project and seek strategies to manage these during implementation.
Where necessary, recommend technology solutions or suppliers to the project. - To plan, execute and manage engagement with internal and external stakeholders as part of the work package including liaison with prospective suppliers.
- To assume responsibility for successful implementation of work plans/packages ensuring they are on time, within budget and to required standards.
- To produce project highlight, presentations or other reports for senior management and stakeholders as required.
Knowledge/Experience required:
- The ability to communicate at executive level internally and across other organisations at director level.
- The ability to construct from several sources, detailed operational and financial projections.
- Educated to degree standard or possess equivalent amount of proven relevant experience.
- Proven track record in a Research and Development role.
Delivering new innovative solutions and processes using a strong logical approach. - An ability to transfer strategic perspectives into practicable and operational processes.
- An ability to understand complex issues, reducing them to their essential elements and being able to identify, assess implications, evaluate, and manage risks and opportunities.
- Verbal and Written Welsh and English skills.
- Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
- Highly developed inter-personal skills with the ability to build and maintain a comprehensive network of contacts in and outside of North Wales Police.
- Experience of assimilating and interpreting large quantities of data, providing management information / statistics.
- Awareness of Data Protection, Management of Police Information and Systems Administration processes.
- Possess strong technical knowledge in the relevant fields.
- Excellent organisational skills, together with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
