Corporate Litigation Lawyer

We are currently working alongside a highly reputable London Borough Council who are looking for a Corporate Litigation Lawyer to join their team on a locum contract basis.

ROLE: Corporate Litigation Lawyer
LOCATION: North London
CONTRACT: Initial 3 months with likelihood of extension
RATE: £35.00 to 45.00ph DOE

Please note that this role would be hybrid working with court attendance when required to do so.

The Role



  • To manage a caseload of matters and act as a advocate on behalf of the council with relation to Employment, Education & Information Law

  • To handle complex litigation on employment, equality, information and education matters, undertake advocacy and to instruct counsel when necessary

  • With relation to employment, dealing with complex employment law matters, including tribunals, TUPE issues and HR policies and practices

  • To advise on, draft, and amend the Council's policies to ensure compliance with the law and best practice


The Person



  • A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with a minimum of 2 years' PQE

  • A minimum of 6 months' worth of Litigation experience within a local authority

  • A thorough knowledge of employment and equalities law, and knowledge of or ability to acquire knowledge of information/data protection law and education law

  • A thorough knowledge of the procedural requirements of the Tribunal rules
