Job Description

Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Berkshire for an Interim Strategic Finance Manager on an initial 3 month contract.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead on the closure of accounts for the relevant team, ensure that income and expenditure accounts are accurate, all balance sheet items are reconciled and all holding accounts cleared on a regular and timely basis.


• Ensure achievement of full monthly or quarterly closedowns of relevant areas; ensure production and presentation of financial management information, budget monitoring, trading reports, financial models etc which are accurate and timely, appropriate to the audience.


• Lead on strategic development for the council, ensuring the delivery of its priorities and strategic vision.
  
  Actively engage and communicate with stakeholders and partners.


• Lead, develop and ensure implementation and review of change management programmes to deliver continual improvement.

Ideal Candidate

• CCAB Qualified Accountant


• Experience of leading the Closure of Accounts and MTFS/Financial Planning within a Local Authority


• Experience of managing a team of finance professionals to run an effective service and up-to-date knowledge of issues surrounding Local Government finance


• Evidence of successful resources management as well as implementing strategic change and experience of managing and successfully delivering a number of projects simultaneously
