We are currently recruiting for a Young Person's Outreach Worker to join the Reach Leaving Care Team at City of Wolverhampton Council

• Initial 3 month contract - possibility of extension


• Full time - 37 hours per week

This position is to deliver a leaving care service to young people leaving care in Wolverhampton in accordance with the requirements of The Children's Act 1989.

We are looking for applicants who can provide support to young people using the service; to address young people's specific individual needs as identified in their pathway plans.

It will be your responsibility for a caseload of young people who are care leavers and to co-work with eligible children and with their Social Workers.

You will have experience of working with young people leaving care or in a relative field of multi-agency planning with a basic understanding of the law relating to the Children Act.

You will also understand adolescence in relation to developmental, familial, social and environmental factors that impact on young people's wellbeing.

Finally, you will need to be an excellent communicator, understanding and encouraging resilience in young people while negotiating and resolving conflict and problems.
