Highways Technical Officer


A client within the Public Sector based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Highways Technical Officer to join their team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a construction environment.



The Role


Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for providing effective technical services that improves the lives of customers.

This work will include Highway Safety, Network Management, CCTV and Safety Camera Management and Highway Regulation.



Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:



  • manage small teams, in an allocated area of work.

    You will develop and maximise the potential of your own staff and others and promote a good working environment.

  • plan workloads, set objectives and targets and ensure effective decision-making.

  • make sure that enquiries and requests are dealt with in a professional and responsive manner.

  • lead on or assist with specific projects, carry out research, monitor performance and contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and review of working practices and procedures.



The Candidate


To be considered for this role you will require to hold a degree or proven ability to work at that level and have experience of effective staff management.


The below skills would be beneficial for the role:



  • Ability to assist in the identification of resources required for work (e.g., information, surveys, etc).

  • Skills and ability to maintain operate and monitor electronic, digital and manual records and management information systems.

  • Hold a full and valid driving licence and be willing to undertake and pass a Council driving test or have the ability to travel between sites using public transport



The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £20 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
